This bandage was invented by a registered nurse, Kim Shipe - a nurse that became the patient. Kim understands the need for comfort, but why let your style suffer. A positive attitude goes a long way.

Her Story

This medical bandage was invented by a registered nurse, Kim Shipe. On May 1st, 2002, Kim was a pedestrian who was hit by a car, pinned then driven into a wooden structure. Her children watched from her car a short distance away. She was confined to a wheelchair for 5 years and had 51 surgeries to save her limbs and her life. Seven years after the accident, Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2009 she had a bilateral mastectomy but found the dressings very uncomfortable. She decided to research fabrics and would eventually sit at her sewing machine to make her own dressings. She used bright colored fabrics to boost her self esteem. She made the dressings for everyone that she thought needed them. Now they are being mass produced for humans as well as for animal use. Kim is still undergoing surgeries and to date has had 87 surgeries. She remains positive, is in remission and relies on the faith daily. Kim, Dr Jennifer Boll, and Dr Peter Sebastain wish you the very best.
